Caught your attention didn't I?! Technically speaking, were not nurses, but Jordyn, Ryder and myself all achieved our AKC Rally Novice (RN) titles this past weekend in Ocala. I was my usual calm self and picked up two pretty blue ribbons and one red ribbon. Along with my two first place finishes I earned some nice checks from the host clubs to help mom cover some expenses, there were some great vendors there and it was the least I could do. Jordyn surprised me and stayed focused, surprised because she loves everyone and there was a person in a wheelchair, and let's face it that girl is a never off "duty". She took home one red ribbon and two yellow ribbons. Ryder did remarkably well too. He placed fourth and brought home three white ribbons. Overall it was a great weekend. We swept the placement ribbons, earned three RN titles, and most importantly...we had a BLAST!

Here is a photo from our weekend. No professional photos, we had to get home to do an obedience demo (ironically enough) to promote adoption at the Grand Opening of our rescue's new facility which also went very well.

Today marks Ryder's first birthday and he's been a wonderful addition to our family. He's definitely a momma's boy, but hey, when your raised by three girls (me, Jordyn, Pebbles and mom of course) I think that's a given. We went out to the local Barkery and bought some goodies for his birthday. Boy did he love his new toys and he shared his treats too. His biggest surprise comes in two days. We are heading over to his breeder's house for a reunion with his canine family, I can't wait!  Happy birthday little man!

It's official, Ryder is now "Nog's Knightly Trek to Hollywood JH" and mom could not be more thrilled! Ryder achieved this title a few days shy of his first birthday and certainly proved himself amongst the older dogs in the field this weekend. The conditions were tough, it was very windy and much cooler than usual here in FL, but nonetheless he  pulled off two fantastic days of hunting. On Sunday he drove through a set of decoys to take a straight line to his mark, even the judge recognized his enthusiasm and mom could not be more happy. Way to go little man!

The younger dogs proved themselves tonight! Mom took Ryder and Jorydn to the Treasure Coast Kennel Club for CGC testing and both passed with flying colors! I knew they would because I've practically raised them both myself and as many of you already know I'm very well behaved but without stealing too much of their thunder mom seemed pretty impressed with their self control, especially Ryder since he's still very much a goofy pup. They both earned a certificate and mom gave us all some well deserved homemade PB & Carob Chip cookies, yumm!

Well, we did it again, we made mom proud! Ryder, mom and me  attended our clubs annual dock jumping competition and I jumped a new personal best of 20' and brought home a 6th place Pro Finals ribbon. Ryder had a good time too, he didn't jump his best but he had a great time and got  mom soaked in the process. We got to visit with Ry's canine family too. He looks a lot like his Grandma and everyone says so so I guess I'll have to agree, but he will always be my knucklehead little brother.

We also got the opportunity to compete in the Land Speed Retrieve contest. Fastest dog down and back for a 75 yd mark. I ended up with a time of 14.28. Ryder was making great time but on the way back starting slowing just short of the line and he....stopped to poop! I couldn't believe it, I told him to go potty beforehand but I guess the pup learned the hard way. Mom let him run again, and he ended up with a time of 14.02. He beat me, but I think I would have done better if mom took my Angel costume off. Clearly the wings are of no benefit in this event. Another lab with a time of 12.30 won, but we'll be ready next year. Mom actually caught our runs on video this year and posted the video on youtube, if you can believe that!

Here are two photos mom took before the days events:

Jordyn is officially off crate rest and running me in circles. She is flying around the yard like a bat of h*ll and having a grand ole time flipping that darn raccoon toy around the yard! I'm thrilled for her but I warned mom that toy was a bad idea. Since Jordyn is doing so well, mom brought home another foster dog to rehabilitate. I thought we had our paws full with Jordyn running amuck, but clearly I under-estimated mom. Anyway, I was expecting a large lab mix named Coal (we met the handsome fellow the other day) but instead mom brought home this squirrel-ish looking dog (minus the bushy tail). They call her Lola and apparently she is a Chihuahua pup, so needless to say we have a lot of teaching ahead. I'm bound and determined to teach her to retrieve and swim, because let's face it all dogs should do these wonderful things. Even mutt sibling Pebbles does! I'd love to stay and chat, but I have some manners to teach.

When we adopted Jordyn, the vet told mom she was about 9-10 mos of age so we figured her original birthdate was around the first week in July. Since she came home April 4, mom made her special birthday July 4th. Personally, I think mom should have made it another day so we could have two days to celebrate, but she said we  will still get some special treats too, so I guess its okay.

Anyway, Jordyn is still on crate rest so she took me to Petsmart to help pick out some birthday goodies. I found a really neat fox toy, which I think Jordyn will really like, and mom picked out this awful looking ball. She says its a ball, but it has a ton of holes in it, and I tried to tell her if your going to buy a ball at least buy one that floats, but she didn't listen and bought it anyway. Go figure! She also got Jordyn this really annoying raccoon toy. It chirps (if you can call it that) everytime it moves. It went off the whole ride home, everytime mom turned a corner. I figure if I can get my paws on it before mom gives it to Jordyn, I'll hide it. I think its in the best interest of the whole family, because Jordyn likes to toss her toys in the air for hours on end and I'll loose my sanity with all that chirping nonsense. I would love to stay and chat, but I'm off to find Mr. Raccoon...

Hailey here. I hope you take a moment and have a look around the new site Mom created. Please, whatever you do, ignore the nicknames. Talk about embarrassing! I'm Mom's right hand girl, err...right pawed pup and almost always travel with her even if I'm not competing. We keep her pretty busy, so I've offered to take charge (of the blog that is) and will do my best to keep you updated on the adventure of Team Aerodognamic. Stay tuned!
